Mocktail Options for Hen Parties: Making Sure Nobody Gets Left Out

If anyone in your group doesn't drink, whether that's a pregnancy, health choice or just personal preference, here's exactly how the hen party cocktail class handles it.

Non-drinkers are fully included

One of the most common questions we get is: "What happens if someone in our group doesn't drink?" The answer is simple, they make mocktails instead, and they have the same experience as everyone else.

Mocktail versions of every cocktail in the class are available at no extra charge. Just let us know how many non-alcoholic options you need when you book, and your mixologist will bring the appropriate ingredients for everyone.

The mocktail versions

Here's how the standard class cocktails translate to non-alcoholic versions:

Sex on the Beach (mocktail) — cranberry juice, orange juice, peach nectar and grenadine over ice. Bright, fruity and genuinely delicious. Same glassware, same garnish as the cocktail version.

Mojito (mocktail) — fresh lime juice, muddled mint, sugar syrup and soda water. The technique — muddling the mint, working with sugar syrup — is identical to the alcoholic version. The result is fresh, crisp and exactly what a Mojito should taste like.

Cosmopolitan (mocktail) — cranberry juice, fresh lime juice, a dash of orange and rose water. The shaking technique is identical. The colour and presentation are indistinguishable from the cocktail version at a glance.

How it works in the class

The mixologist is experienced at running inclusive classes. Non-drinkers aren't pointed out or treated differently, they simply have a non-alcoholic version of what everyone else is making. The competitive rounds, the taste-offs and the games include everyone equally.

There's no awkwardness and no sense that non-drinkers are a separate tier of the class. They make the same recipes with different base ingredients, using the same techniques, in the same glassware.

This is particularly relevant for hen parties where the bride or a guest is pregnant, we get this question frequently, and the mocktail option means the experience is completely normal for everyone involved.

Dietary requirements and allergies

Beyond alcohol, if anyone in your group has dietary requirements or allergies that might affect ingredients (for example, a fruit allergy that affects some of the mixers), let us know when booking and the mixologist will adapt accordingly. Clear communication at the booking stage means everything is sorted before the class begins.

The fully non-alcoholic hen party class

Some groups choose to run the entire class as a non-alcoholic event, and it works brilliantly. The techniques are the same, the competitive rounds are the same, and the mocktails are genuinely delicious drinks in their own right.

A fully alcohol-free hen party cocktail class is a great option for: - A bride who doesn't drink - Groups with a majority of non-drinkers - A daytime class where no one wants to drink during the day - Groups where someone is pregnant and the bride wants the experience to be equal for everyone

When you get a quote, simply mention that you'd like a fully mocktail class and the team will make sure the mixologist brings everything needed.

Premium mocktail upgrades

Just as the cocktail class offers premium upgrades like Pornstar Martinis and Espresso Martinis, there are premium mocktail options available too. Passion fruit and vanilla mocktails, elderflower spritzes and ginger-based non-alcoholic drinks can be added at the same £2.50 per drink upgrade price.

The mocktail upgrade option is particularly popular for fully inclusive groups where you want non-drinkers to have a premium experience that matches the drinkers' upgrades, rather than a standard base version.

Why inclusion matters on a hen party

A hen party is a celebration of the whole group, not just the drinkers. Making sure non-drinkers have the same quality of experience, without feeling like an afterthought, is something Butlers in the Buff takes seriously.

The mocktail option is available in every city we cover, including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol and all other locations. It's not a special request or an extra service, it's a standard part of how every class is run.
