Planning your Cambridge hen party

📍 Where hens typically stay

Popular bases in Cambridge include City Centre, Mill Road, Newnham and Cherry Hinton, all well suited for large group Airbnbs and short-let houses where we can set up the bar.

Newnham, Cherry Hinton and the areas south of the city centre have the best large group houses in Cambridge, spacious Victorian and Edwardian terraces with gardens, within cycling or walking distance of the centre. Book well in advance as availability is limited.

🍹 What pairs well with a cocktail class

A punting tour along the Backs, afternoon tea on King's Parade, or a walk through the university colleges before heading out for the evening.

🚂 Getting there

Cambridge is under an hour from London King's Cross and easy to reach from Norwich, Peterborough and the East of England.

Punting is a traditional flat-bottomed boat activity on the River Cam, you push off the riverbed with a long pole to navigate through Cambridge's stunning college architecture. You can hire chauffeur-punted boats (recommended for hen parties who want to relax with drinks) or self-hire punts. It's one of the most memorable Cambridge experiences and absolutely brilliant for a group.

Both Oxford and Cambridge are extraordinarily beautiful, but they have different characters. Cambridge is slightly more compact and flat (great for walking), has the famous Backs for punting and tends to have a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. Oxford has a more vibrant independent bar scene. Both are excellent, the choice often comes down to which is more convenient for your group.

The class runs for 2 hours. Your mixologist arrives 15 minutes early to set up. Each guest makes three cocktails, a Sex on the Beach, a Mojito and a Cosmopolitan, with games and competitions woven throughout. It's the perfect way to start a Cambridge hen night before you head out.

Your professional mixologist, all premium spirits, fresh fruit, mixers, ice, glassware, shakers and jiggers are all included. Three cocktails per person are included in the price. There are no hidden extras, everything you need for an unforgettable evening is covered from £35pp.

The minimum group size is 10 guests. There's no maximum, just let us know your numbers when you get a quote. We regularly run classes for groups of 20, 30 and beyond.

Yes, we come directly to your Airbnb, holiday cottage or rented house anywhere in Cambridge and the surrounding area including Ely, St Ives, Newmarket, Huntingdon. There's no need to travel, we set up and bring everything.

Absolutely. You can add a Butlers in the Buff butler to your cocktail class in Cambridge from £150. He'll serve drinks, help run the games and add a brilliant bit of theatre to the evening. Just request this when getting your quote.

We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date, especially for weekends in the summer and around bank holidays. That said, we do take last-minute bookings where availability allows, check our availability when you get a quote.
